The adoption of a series of healthy Anti Aging Diet lifestyles (diet, exercise, beauty treatments) that minimize the production of free radicals, in addition to the use of dietary supplements and pharmacological, may prevent and reduce oxidation. Herein lies the medicine “antiaging” which helps those who can afford (the cost of treatment ranges between 1,800 and 6,000 €) to delay the biological clock.

An antiaging treatment begins with analysis, testing of hormone levels, revision of the liver, kidneys, intestines, nose, or DNA memory so that the specialist can determine the biological and physiological damages suffered by the patient’s cells. With the results develops a personalized program that includes diet, exercise, stress management and supplements of vitamins, antioxidants and minerals. Read the rest of this entry »

Anti AgingOxidation is simply the result of a process as vital as breathing and as Anti Aging Foods. That is because gas exchange occurs at the cellular level occurring molecules called free radicals that accumulate both cause damage to health.

In our bodies are continually renewing cells such as epithelial, for example, which are what make up the skin and others that have no replacement as with neurons. Over the years, free radicals resulting from oxidation can produce a genetic defect on the first contributing to higher cancer risk (genetic mutation), or reduce the functionality of the latter which is characteristic of aging. This is confirmed by a new study published in ‘Free Radical Biology and Medicine.

“Our study shows a mechanism by which vitamin C helps maintain healthy skin. First, it improves healing of wounds and also because it protects DNA from oxidation by free radicals (oxygen molecules responsible the destruction of healthy cells and premature aging of the skin), “said Marcus Cooke, lead author of the article. Aging Process (part 2)

Posted by mzPOTTER | January 26th, 2010 in General Aging Info | No Comments »

aging process7 .- Aging Respiratory System:

Aging affects not only the physiological functions of the lungs, also the defense capacity.

The deterioration due to age in ventilation and gas distribution are due to alterations in chest wall compliance as the lung. With age the strength of respiratory muscles is reduced. There is also stiffness, loss of weight and volume, and that produces a partial filling. Exiate a reduced number of alveoli, and that causes dilation of the bronchioles and alveolar ducts. There are alterations in the lung parenchyma due to loss of the number and caliber of the interalveolar capillaries with decreased PO2, affecting pulmonary ventilation and alveolar-capillary diffusion.

The chest wall compliance decreases gradually with advancing age, probably due to the ossification of the costochondral joints, increased anteroposterior diameter of chest, kyphosis, and vertebral collapse.

Responses to hypoxia and hypercapnia decrease with age, which is why the elderly are more vulnerable to reduced oxygen levels.

There is a loss of effective cough reflex, this contributes to susceptibility to pneumonia, there is also a decrease in humoral and cellular immunity that facilitate infection. Read the rest of this entry »
